Roadworks are causing disruption on one of the busiest routes in and out of Watford.
Temporary traffic lights have been installed in Hempstead Road at the junction with Courtlands Drive.
The work is causing delays in both directions but particularly during rush hour.
Cadent Gas is responsible for the work, according to traffic data management website One Network.
The company, which installed the lights yesterday (April 19), has been granted a permit of until April 29 by Hertfordshire County Council to complete the work.
This morning, the roadworks were causing more significant delays from the direction of the Hunton Bridge Roundabout, tailing back on the A41 towards Kings Langley. The M25 closure near Potters Bar may have made the situation worse.
Elsewhere, the month-long roadworks in Bushey to replace traffic lights continues to cause problems.
More traffic was diverted onto the M1 southbound towards Watford because of the M25 closure this morning which led to longer delays than usual in and around the Hartspring Roundabout, near where the roadworks in Aldenham Road are situated.
This work is also scheduled to be completed by April 29.
