The Easter egg hunt began early this year after hundreds were collected for seriously ill children at Watford General Hospital.
Watford’s residents, local businesses, and West Watford Labour politician Nigel Bell are among many who answered the call to donate the chocolate treats.
Charlott Saunders, brand manager of children’s play group Little Learners, worked with the charities Spread a Smile and Raise: West Hertfordshire Hospitals Charity on the initiative.
She said: “I been overwhelmed with the response. People’s hearts have bought into it.
"I’ve even had a donation from a lady in Dubai who lived in Watford 15 years ago.”
Overall 500 eggs and Halal sweets were collected.
A fundraising page has also been launched to donate 1,500 eggs across 24 NHS hospitals to ill children.
