Let’s take a trip down memory lane to see how much key areas around Watford has changed over the last thirteen years.
Undeniably, new developments scattered around Watford has made the town look much different than we remember it.
We’ve compiled a list of some places pictured in 2008/9 and compared it to how it looks now.
Let’s see how nostalgic you get over it…
Before the Harlequin became intu Watford in 2013, and the opening of the shopping centre’s extension in 2018, the high street looked quite different to how it does now.
Use the slider to compare the spot in 2008 and now.
Outside Watford Junction, much has changed mainly with the new TJX headquarters at Clarendon Road changing the look of the area.
Here is how it looks in 2008 compared to 2021:
Modernised buildings by the station gives the place a very different feel.
And even the actual entrance to the station has changed a lot – do you remember when it didn’t have the colourful ‘Watford’ sign at the front?
We also thought to look elsewhere in Leavesden, as Warner Bros Studios has grown massively over the last thirteen years.
Pictured in 2009, there were less prominent buildings in the area.
These are just some of the many spots that can feel like a blast to the past when looking at older pictures.
