Police have been granted permission to continue holding nearly £38,000 cash seized during a raid in Croxley Green.
Officers executed a warrant in Baldwins Lane on September 11, 2020, following which two men were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply class A drugs.
A Herts Police spokesperson said cash and watches were seized while an investigation was carried out.
On March 18 the Eastern Region Special Operations Unit (ERSOU) applied for the continued detention of £37,825 due to “having reasonable grounds for suspecting that it is recoverable property obtained through unlawful conduct”.
It also asked to extend the period it is allowed to hold two Rolex watches worth £9,000 and £12,000.
Stevenage Magistrates’ Court granted the request and extended the period for three months.
No further action has been taken relating to the drugs offences but police are holding the assets while investigations continue.
It is understood that if a suspect cannot legitimately account for seized property it can still be investigated even without an associated prosecution.
