Police are investigating three burglaries that took place on the same day in the same neighbourhood.

Properties in Herkomer Road, Sutcliffe Close, and Spring Crofts in Bushey were all targeted yesterday (March 23).

In an email to people signed up to Hertfordshire Constabulary's neighbourhood watch (OWL), residents have been urged to be "extra vigilant" and report anything suspicious.

The house in Herkomer Road was broken into at around 7.15pm. Police say a rear door was smashed before a key was taken from the inside lock to open the door.

A search was then carried out of the home and jewellery was stolen.

The burglary at Sutcliffe Close is believed to have happened minutes earlier - between 6.58pm and 7.05pm.

The front door was smashed open prompting an alarm to go off. The alarm panels were pulled off the wall before jewellery was taken.

The break-in at Spring Crofts is believed to have happened any time from 7.40am, but most likely between 5pm and 7.59pm.

The bottom panel of a side door was pushed out to gain entry before jewellery and cash was stolen.

In all three incidents, police have described those responsible for the burglary as carrying out "untidy searches". It is not clear at this stage whether the burglaries are linked.

If anyone has any information or CCTV/Ringdoor footage which could help police enquiries, call 101 and quote the appropriate crime number.
