A man who caused “distress and concern” after carrying a meat cleaver while he left his flat has pleaded guilty.

Kerry Reynolds, 39, was captured on CCTV as he left his Pennard House flat off Oxhey Drive with a meat cleaver in his hand on January 19, 2020.

Appearing at St Albans Crown Court last Thursday (March 17), he pleaded guilty to possessing a bladed article.

The court heard that Reynolds went into the communal hallway, down the stairs and exited onto St Andrews Way for a short time before returning to his flat.

On January 30 that year, police searched Reynold’s flat due to a separate matter, when they seized the meat cleaver.

Detective Constable Carly Fry said that Reynolds has been “synonymous with anti-social behaviour” in South Oxhey for some time.

The detective added that he made his neighbours’ lives a “misery”.

Reynolds was remanded back into custody and is scheduled to be sentenced at St Albans Crown Court on April 28.

DC Fry added: “Everyone has the right to feel safe in their home, and no-one should have to endure anti-social behaviour and crime in their neighbourhood.

“If you are experiencing issues, then please report them to us so we can record information and take action.”
