A number of pubs have announced they are temporarily closed for the day following advice from police.
Several venues have taken to Facebook to inform customers and followers that they won't be open for much of today (March 23) with some not reopening until tomorrow.
The Compasses and The Swan in Abbots Langley, The Hammer in Hand in Watford, The Saracens Head in Kings Langley, and The Black Boy in Bricket Wood are among pubs which have posted messages on their social media pages.
At least two say the closures are in place because of "circumstances beyond the pubs' control".
Police have confirmed that it is aware of a funeral taking place in the Watford area which officers believe a large number of people are attending.
Neighbourhood inspector Pete Edwards said: "We have made our licensed premises aware of a traveller funeral which is taking place in Watford today, and which we believe will involve a large number of people.
"This information has been provided to the pubs so that they plan accordingly.
"The decision to close is down to the individual premises and not the police."
