A primary school has received the best possible outcome after a recent Ofsted inspection.
Warren Dell Primary School was praised by the school watchdog after the recent inspections on January 25 and 26 – with a report released on March 11 revealing that the school not only maintained its ‘good’ rating, but there is enough evidence for it to be ‘outstanding’.
As Ofsted carried out a routine section 8 inspection to see if a school should maintain its ‘good’ rating, a higher grade cannot be issued.
But inspectors say there is “enough evidence of improved performance” to suggest that the school would be considered ‘outstanding’ in its next section 5 inspection – where higher or lower ratings can be issued.
The report states that “pupils thrive” at the school and they “work and play harmoniously” with their friends.
Inspectors hailed that pupils were “encouraged to be curious, resilient and to persevere”.
Commenting on the early years, the report said: “Right from the start, adults make sure the youngest children hear lots of new sounds and words, for example from listening to stories.”
Head teacher Jenny Morley said: “We are so proud that our recent visit from Ofsted recognised our continuous journey to success and that we are in sight of an outstanding grade.
“The Ofsted report endorses the hard work and engagement of our Warren Dell community.”
She has also praised the “commitment and amazing teamwork” that has lead to the school likely receiving an ‘outstanding’ rating in its next inspection.
