Numerous police cars were spotted by the Grand Union Canal near The Grove hotel as officers tried to find a wanted man.
They attended at around 9.30am yesterday (Tuesday, March 15) to arrest a man who was wanted on suspicion of failing to appear in court.
Daniel Eames, 43, of Windsor Road in Chesham, was previously charged with possession with intent to supply class A drugs and scheduled to be at Aylesbury Crown Court on March 4, a Thames Valley Police spokesperson said.
They added: “Officers attended the Grand Union Canal near The Grove hotel in Chandler’s Cross, Watford, at around 9.30am yesterday.
“A 43-year-old man from Chesham, Buckinghamshire, was arrested on suspicion of failing to appear in court, affray, assault on an emergency worker and possessing an offensive weapon.
“He remains in custody.”
Police left the scene at around 1pm, and it is understood the alleged affray, assault and offensive weapon charges relate to an incident yesterday.
