Watford residents are being invited to a demonstration in the town centre this evening (Tuesday) to show support for Ukraine.
Councillors from all sides will gather outside the Town Hall - opposite the library - at 6.30pm to show the town's unity in condemning Russia's invasion.
Watford Borough Council said "all of Watford is welcome", adding the gathering is also designed to remember those who have lost their lives in the conflict and demonstrate solidarity with Ukraine and its citizens.
It urged anyone feeling unwell or who has Covid symptoms to avoid mixing.
Labour's Asif Khan has put forward a motion for the council to write to the Home Secretary urging the UK to take in Ukrainian refugees and financially support them.
It also calls for people in Watford to donate to appeals for humanitarian aid.
The motion will be debated at a council meeting this evening.
