A Watford man was given a suspended prison sentence after he fraudulently bought items online and withdrew over £1,000 of cash.
Lamarl Hubbard from Fairfolds was sentenced at St Albans Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, March 8 after admitting to three fraud charges.
In early May last year the 28-year-old dishonestly bought £520.72 of items from Amazon before doing the same with £304.87 of goods from Asda two months later.
Between May 29 and June 4 he also dishonestly withdrew £1,080 of cash in Watford.
The court heard the offences were “serious” enough for Hubbard to be given four months’ prison suspended for 18 months.
He was also ordered to pay £1,905.59 compensation, a £128 victim services surcharge and £85 costs – taking the total to £2,118.59.
The defendant’s guilty plea was taken into account, the court heard.
