AIDY BOOTHROYD, once again, had no complaints about yet another home defeat and could not hide his disappointment at his side's woeful defensive display.

With Matt Jackson in the wilderness, Boothroyd opted to hand Malky MacKay his first competitive start in 11 months and leave the more mobile Adrian Mariappa, who has been itching for a start, on the bench.

With Matt Sadler making his debut, Wolves took advantage of the lack of cohesion in the home back four, their quick silver attacking players carving the Hornets defence as Mick McCarthy's men romped into the fifth round of the FA Cup.

"I can't have ay complaints because when you defend like that you get exactly what you deserve," said Boothroyd.

"A few changes were made because I didn't want to risk players as we have two league games in quick succession. I still felt the team that was out there had a great opportunity to stake a claim for our promotion run in but one or two didn't do that. One or two did them no favours at all."
