A boy was left with cuts and bruising after being hit by a motorist who did not stop at the scene in Watford.
The hit-and-run occurred in St Albans Road around 5.10pm on Thursday March 3.
Hertfordshire Constabulary says a blue Volkswagen Polo and 11-year-old boy were involved.
“Officers immediately attended the scene but the driver of the vehicle was not there upon arrival,” a force spokesperson said.
Police are now looking to trace the driver.
PC Ian Key, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Road Policing Unit, said: “Thankfully the child was not seriously injured, sustaining only bruising and minor cuts. Nevertheless, it would have been a frightening experience for all involved.
“We are trying to establish exactly what happened and so we need to trace the driver. The vehicle is believed to be a model from 2002-2005. If this was you, please get in touch straight away.
“Perhaps saw you saw the vehicle driving off? I would urge any dashcam owners who were driving in the area at the time to please check their cameras and get in touch if you spot the vehicle.
“If you saw what happened, have information about the incident or think you know who the driver is, please make contact by calling 101 or email me at Ian.key@herts.pnn.police.uk quoting ISR 477 of 3 March.”
