Drivers may find their journeys disrupted from later this month due to a number of temporary street closures in Watford for roadworks.
A notice from Hertfordshire County Council in this week’s edition of the Watford Observer details the extent of the closures and other restrictions that may be imposed until the works are completed.
All temporary closure orders are valid for up to 18 months and the dates when the works will take place will be displayed on signs at or near the relevant locations.
Drainage works are set to close Thomas Sawyer Way from its junction with A411 Dalton Way westwards for a distance of 100m.
This order is due to come into force on March 21.
The council is intending to make an order, due to take effect from March 22, to also close these lengths of road for drainage works:
- Canterbury Road from its junction with Westland Road north-westwards for its entire length.
- Haydon Road from its junction with A411 Chalk Hill south-eastwards to its junction with Cross Road, a distance of 375m.
- Wellington Drive from its junction with A412 St Albans Road south-eastwards to its junction with Westland Road, a distance of 129m.
- Neston Road from its junction with Parkgate Road north-westwards and south-westwards to its junction with Sandringham Road, a distance of 200m.
- Parkgate Road from its junction with Bushey Mill Lane south-westwards to its junction with Sandringham Road, a distance of 294m.
- Sandringham Road from its junction with Balmoral Road north-eastwards, north-westwards and north-eastwards to its junction with Bushey Mill Lane, a distance of 633m.
- Westland Road from its junction with Station Road south-westwards, south-eastwards and south-westwards to its junction with St Johns Road, a distance of 277m.
An order due to take effect on March 21 is set to close these two lengths of road in Watford to vehicles:
- Derby Road from its junction with A411 Beechen Grove south-eastwards and north-eastwards to its junction with Grosvenor Road, a distance of 131m.
- Grosvenor Road from its junction with Derby Road south-westwards and south-eastwards to its junction with Beechen Grove, a distance of 31m.
The replacement of a utility pole is due to shut Horseshoe Lane from the eastern boundary of No.17 north-westwards for a distance of 12m.
This order, if made, will take effect from March 22.
