New homes part of the £450 million Riverwell regeneration in Watford are ready to launch.
Kier Property and Watford Borough Council will be launching the new two and three bedroom homes part of the ‘Avenues’ development, with a launch event to take place on Saturday (February 26).
Avenues offers 23 affordable homes and 62 houses for open market sale, with full completion of the overall development due from autumn 2022.
The new homes include a fully fitted kitchen, oak flooring, courtyard gardens and/or roof terraces, allocated parking and cycle storage.
‘Avenues’ comes in two phases and once both phases are completed it will deliver a combined total of 193 homes, on the area just to the south of Watford FC Vicarage Road Stadium and adjacent to a proposed new primary school.
Fareen Lalani, senior development director for Kier Property, said that the development is “surrounded by parkland” on the banks of the River Colne, has easy reach to Watford’s amenities and “outstanding links to the capital”.
Mayor Peter Taylor said: “A vital part of our ambition for Riverwell has always been to offer a variety of new homes within this new neighbourhood.
“These houses are a great addition to family housing in Watford and we are particularly pleased to see the inclusion of affordable homes, which will give 23 local families a real chance to find a permanent place to live in our town”.
