Queues have now cleared after three lanes shut on the M25 due to a fallen tree.
The tree blocked the carriageway between junction 19 for Watford and 20 for Kings Langley/A41, with queues tailing back to junction 17 for Maple Cross.
There had been 7.3 miles of congestion on the approach, causing delays of 35 minutes above usual journey times.

But google maps says queues have now cleared on the M25.
The tree is among multiple to have fallen as high winds caused by Storm Eunice batter Watford and surrounding areas.
Hertfordshire County Council’s highways team has received over 175 reports of fallen trees and the Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service have received more than 100 calls to unsafe structures and fallen trees.

Among areas where they have fallen are Oxhey Drive, Watling Street, Park Avenue and Nascot Wood Road.
Alex Woodman, Executive Director of Community Protection and Chief Fire Officer, said: “I’d like to thank all our colleagues across the emergency services and all the crews, from both our highways and fire services, who have been out in the storm responding to incidents and helping to keep people safe.
“We’re prioritising the most hazardous incidents, so it will take a while for us to deal with everything, and it may take several days to complete the clear up. We’re expecting the high winds to continue into the night, so please continue to stay at home if you can and be extremely careful if you do have to go out.”
