Several streets in Watford are set to be temporarily closed for roadworks while new parking restrictions are set to be introduced at a number of locations around the town.
A notice from Hertfordshire County Council in this week’s edition of the Watford Observer details the extent of the closures and other restrictions that may be implemented while the works are carried out.
All temporary closure orders are valid for up to 18 months and the works will only be carried out at times specified at or near the relevant locations.
The council is intending to make an order, due to take effect on March 8, to shut the following lengths of road in Watford for highway drainage works:
- Aynho Street from its junction with Souldern Street south-eastwards to its junction with Oxford Street, a distance of 51m.
- Banbury Street from its junction with A4145 Vicarage Road north-westwards to its junction with Souldern Street, a distance of 103m.
- Oxford Street from its junction with Banbury Street north-eastwards and south-eastwards to its junction with Vicarage Road, a distance of 200m.
- Souldern Street from its junction with Banbury Street north-eastwards to its junction with Aynho Street, a distance of 150m.
- Cherry Tree Road from its junction with Beechwood Rose to its junction with Berry Avenue, a distance of 255m.
- Fearnley Street from its junction with A4178 The Hornets north-westwards to its junction with Addiscombe Road, a distance of 182m.
The council is also intending to make an order to temporarily prohibit vehicles from using Bushey Hall Road, Bushey / Water Lane, from its junction with Greatham Road south-westwards for a distance of 245m.
This is for street lighting works and the order is due to come into force on March 11.
Meanwhile, another notice details plans to introduce ‘no waiting at any time’ measures – double yellow lines – at the following locations:
- At the junction of Middle Way and Beechwood Rise
- On Bay Tree Walk, east of its junction with Nascot Wood Road
- On Nascot Wood Road between its junctions with Langley Road and north-west of Birchmead and Bay Tree Walk
- On the south-east side of Tunnel Wood Road, between Nascot Wood Road and Rufford Close
- At the junction of Bromet Close with Hempstead Road
- On the north section of Gullet Wood Road between Rushton Avenue and Sparrow Walk
- At the junction of St Albans Road with Spring Gardens
- At the junction of St Albans Road with Holland Gardens
- On both sides of Ganders Ash east of its junction with High Road
- At the junction of Forest Road with Haines Way
- At the junction of Trident Way with High Road
