Three Rivers District Council is proposing to introduce a new permit parking scheme in an area of Rickmansworth.
The council says it is in response to a previous consultation in which residents stated there was a "parking problem".
The proposed scheme would see on-street parking prioritised for residents and those who visit them between the hours of 8.30am-6.30pm on Monday to Saturday.
Streets included in the proposal, which is in the Moneyhill area of Rickmansworth, are Uxbridge Road (part), Mount View, Elm Way, Field Way, Dellwood, Park Way, The Highlands, and West Way.
Only vehicles with valid permits would be permitted to park in these streets during the permit hours stated.
Shoppers and other visitors would be able to park in dedicated short-stay bays, which would retain a free parking period but would require tickets to be displayed.
The parking scheme, known as Rickmansworth West, has been out for consultation for a few weeks and the deadline to respond is looming - February 8.
Comments are being invited from the public, as well as local residents and businesses in the area affected, using a survey form that is available on the council website.
Paper copies of the plan can be viewed on the noticeboards it Elm Way (opposite Wimpy), Uxbridge Road (opposite the BP station) at the front of Three Rivers House in Northway, and at Rickmansworth Library.
The council says if it doesn't see "clear support" for new or changed parking restrictions in a street, then it is unlikely that any scheme would be taken forward there. For example, Church Street has already been scrapped from a possible scheme.
After the consultation ends on February 8, a decision will be taken by the relevant council committee on whether to progress the scheme to a final consultation or to decide if the scheme should be changed in any way.
