A man who died at Watford’s shopping centre took his own life, an inquest heard.
Andre Edson, 49, from Bushey, died after he fell from a height at Atria Watford on March 27, 2021.
At the time it was reported that he suffered serious injuries after the fall and he died at the scene.
But an inquest hearing last Thursday (January 27) has revealed further details, confirming that he took his own life and jumped from a car park at the shopping centre.
It was said that Mr Edson had “serious physical injuries” from the jump and his cause of death was listed as “traumatic transection of the brain stem”.
Forensic officers were seen at Atria on the day joining police and paramedics at the scene, and they reportedly remained in Watford until past 7pm.
The public was also being kept away from the shopping centre as emergency services arrived.
