A village scheme in Bushey which will bring more affordable homes to the area has been completed.
The development in Squires Park, which was was finished last week, is set in seven acres of landscaped grounds surrounded by woodland.
It consists of 13 homes for affordable rent, six shared ownership apartments and two shared equity homes.
And according to developer the Heronslea Group, the Squires Park site became “its fastest ever selling development”, with nearly all private units now sold.
Jason Rishover, CEO of Heronslea Groups, said: “We were thrilled with how Squires Park progressed over time to become the very special development it is today, and even more happy that we can give something back to the community with these beautiful affordable homes.”
The developer partnered with Watford Community Housing over the project.
Mr Rishover added: “We have an excellent ongoing partnership with Watford Community Housing and feel really strongly about the need, as a developer, to not only build private homes but also affordable homes, so that everyone can get the chance to own their own home.”
Lisa Cathro, development director at Watford Community Housing, said: “This is yet another fantastic example of how much we can achieve with partnership working, 19 affordable homes for the Bushey community, at the heart of a truly stunning development.
“There is overwhelming demand for affordable housing in the UK at the moment, and ongoing collaboration like this will ensure that we continue to create modern, efficient homes that residents can be proud of.”
