Residents in Bushey say they are “mortified” after police launched a murder investigation after a body was found.
Police have been seen monitoring the scene outside a flat in High Street at the corner of Melbourne Road, after a man in his 40s was found unresponsive at around 10.45pm on Sunday (January 23).
He was pronounced dead at the scene and a murder probe was launched on Wednesday night following a post mortem.

People living nearby say officers have been at the crime scene for the past few days.
Speaking to the Observer, one woman, 53, explained that she believed she may have heard shouting on the Sunday evening.
She added that she believes she saw around seven police cars rush to the car park of the building.
"I was really worried because no one had a clue on what was going on, they (police) all came at once, but some of us asked what was going on and they did help calm us down," she said.
Since then officers have been knocking on doors and questioning people in the area.
One man, who says he lives a few roads down and wished not to be named, said that he heard by early Tuesday that there were rumours there had been a murder.
While he did not know the man personally, he said that it “makes you think” and that he was “mortified” there was allegedly a murder in the area.
Police set up a forensic tent inside the car park by the property, which was flanked by two police vehicles yesterday (Thursday).
It is understood there was a heavier police presence earlier in the week.
Some officers were also seen walking around the communal area of the building as investigations continue.
Hertsmere Chief Inspector Mark Bilsdon said: “I appreciate incidents of this nature cause a great deal of concern among the community.
“I would like to reassure people that we are doing all we can to investigate the circumstances around what happened.”
