A pre-school has impressed inspectors after jumping from an ‘Inadequate’ to ‘Good’ status following a recent Ofsted inspection.
St Michael’s Pre-School at Garston was inspected by the school watchdog on December 8, and a report published yesterday (January 18) shows that overall, the score was considered ‘Good’.
It was noted that the school made “significant improvements” since its last inspection in June 10, 2021, when the school’s personal development and leadership and management was considered ‘Inadequate’.
At the time, there were specific concerns that safeguarding and welfare requirements were breached, according to the June report.
Now, it was found that “staff support children closely” to make sure they make good progress, and children feel “happy and secure” at the school.
Ofsted praised the safeguarding improvement and noted that all staff clearly know the signs and symptoms of potential abuse and neglect.
Children communication skills were found to be well catered for and parents are “enthusiastic” about the care and education their children receive.
The school was approached for further comment about the significant improvement.
