A refugee charity has received a £1,000 donation from Amazon’s team in Hemel Hempstead.
Watford and Three Rivers Refugee Partnership (WTRRP) offers practical and emotional support to asylum seekers and refugees in West Hertfordshire.
The donation from Amazon will be put towards school materials, laptops and other essentials for families in need of help.
Imani Change, site leader at Amazon in Hemel Hempstead, said: "WTRRP offers outstanding support to asylum seekers in Hertfordshire, so we wanted to give the charity’s staff and volunteers a boost with this donation.”"
Tim Whittaker, chairman of trustees for WTRRP, added: "We care deeply about promoting diversity and inclusion in Hertfordshire and are hugely appreciative of this donation from Mark and his team. It’s great to be recognised by an such an established business in the area."
The donation to WTRRP was made as part Amazon’s programme to support the communities around its operating locations across the UK.
Amazon is providing disadvantaged students with online STEM courses as well as teaming up with charity partner Magic Breakfast and delivering more than five million healthy breakfasts to families around the UK.
