Champion boxer Anthony Joshua is encouraging Watford businesses to come forward in his new initiative to bring “energy” into the community.
Joshua and a team of friends who he grew up with in Watford have launched the ‘Clean Herts Community’ foundation which aims to help members in Watford and Hertfordshire in as many ways as possible.
In the past few years, the Watford-born boxer has been vocal about wishing to invest into the town and to find ways to empower the youth and give back to Watford.
Recently, Joshua and the Clean Herts Community team was also seen holding a Christmas event at the Meriden Community Centre, which is on the Meriden estate that Joshua grew up on.
Addressing the newly launched Clean Herts Community and the work it entails, Joshua made a video on Snapchat encouraging local businesses to come forward.
In a video released on Boxing Day, which he joked was his favourite day, Joshua said: “Me and the boys I grew up in Watford have been doing many things in the community where it’s touched some people and some people have been seeing from a distance, but we want to get more people involved.
“So, we organised a foundation called Clean Herts Community because clean hearts win, and we want to bring that energy into the community.
“So, any local businesses, any global businesses, that need marketing and promotion, I’m offering a chance to promote on my Snap(chat) – for a fee of course – but when you’re paying, know that goes back into the community.
“We do things from the love of our heart, but we also wanna raise funds so we can start spreading this and do more and more in 2022 and beyond.”
It was also mentioned that more information about Clean Herts Community will be announced in the coming days, but the group hopes to take charge in many events and projects that will benefit others.
