A bus driver was racially abused and assaulted as a man tried to steal a pot of change.
Police are looking into reports that a man tried to take the money while the driver had stopped at Garston Park Parade last Monday (November 29).
The assault happened at 9pm on the bus and the street but the driver was uninjured.
Detective Constable Adam Bates, who is investigating, said: “I’m looking to hear from anyone who has information about this incident to get in contact with me.
“I believe that members of the public assisted the victim and that the incident was witnessed by numerous others.
“If you were one of these people, and have not already spoken with us, I believe you could be able to assist in the investigation.
