Streets in Watford, Rickmansworth and Chorleywood are among those set to be temporarily closed for roadworks.

A notice from Hertfordshire County Council in this week’s edition of the Watford Observer details its intention to seek orders for a number of road closures and other measures that may be necessary while the works are carried out.

All temporary closure orders are valid for 18 months and the dates when the restrictions come into force will be displayed on signs at or near the relevant locations.

Watford Heath, from a point in line with the western boundary of No. 21 south-eastwards for a distance of approximately 75m except for access, is set to be closed for utility works, except for access.

This order will come into effect on October 25, if made, and the diversion will be via Watford Heath, A4008 Pinner Road and Watford Heath.

A section of Harefield Road, Rickmansworth, is also set to be closed to vehicles for utility works, except for access.

This order is due to come into force from October 29 and will apply from the junction with Woodcock Hill south-eastwards for a distance of approximately 285m.

The alternative route will be via Harefield Road, A404 (London Road/Rickmansworth Road), A4180 Ducks Hill Road, Breakspear Road, Breakspear Road South, Breakspear Road North, Rickmansworth Road and Harefield Road.

Tree works are set to lead to the temporary closure of Nightingale Road, Rickmansworth, except for access.

This order will apply from October 26, if made, from the junction with A412 Uxbridge Road north-westwards, north-eastwards, south-eastwards and north-eastwards to its junction with A404 Chorleywood Road, a distance of approximately 943m.

Furthermore, all vehicles will be prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of the road while the works are in progress.

The diversion will be via A412 (Uxbridge Road/Rectory Road) and A404 Chorleywood Road.

Utility works are scheduled to lead to the closure of a section of Berry Lane, Chorleywood, except for access.

This will apply from a point 300m north-east of its junction with Shepherds Lane north-eastwards for a distance of approximately 50m, with the order scheduled to come into force on October 26.

Motorists are advised to use Berry Lane, Rendlesham Way, Furze View, Hubbards Road, Chorleywood Bottom, Common Gate Road and Berry Lane instead.

An order, if made, will take effect on October 27 for the temporary closure of Little Green Lane, Croxley Green, from its junction with Sarratt public footpath No. 018 westwards for a distance of approximately 68m, except for access.

The diversion will be via Little Green Lane, The Green, Sarratt Road and Little Green Lane.
