Murder detectives investigating the death of a woman are on the lookout for anyone who saw a double decker bus that was reportedly travelling in the Watford area.
Helen Anderson, from Finsbury Park in north London, was found dead next to the A3 in Guildford, Surrey, on August 23.
Surrey Police believe a decommissioned double decker bus that was spotted travelling around Watford and Hatfield in the days leading up to the discovery could be connected to Ms Anderson's murder.
The bus was travelling between midnight and 4am on August 21, and anyone who may recognise the bus is asked to come forward.
Just days before her body was discovered, Ms Anderson was spotted in Wood Green, London, on August 20 at around 10.30pm.
Detective Inspector Chris Rambour said: "In these CCTV images, Helen Anderson is pictured wearing a distinctive, brightly coloured pink dress.
“She appears to have shaved shorter hair on one side and be wearing large dangly earrings.”
CCTV images show her on a white and red bus, that bears resemblance with the decommissioned bus pictured.
Dane Messam, 52, of Henry Road, Hackney, has been charged with murder in connection with the investigation.
A 50-year-old man from Enfield has also been arrested on suspicion of murder and a 51-year-old man from Hackney has been arrested on conspiracy to commit murder. They have both been released on bail whilst enquiries continue.
The trial is set for February 14 next year.
The detective inspector continued: “We are appealing to anyone who may remember seeing Helen on this night or indeed at any time either before or after this sighting to contact us right away and assist us with this investigation.”
Anyone who has information about Ms Anderson’s whereabouts during that period, or information on the bus spotted near to Watford, should contact police through surrey.police.uk or by calling 101 quoting PR/45210089588.
