Motorists were caught up in delays at a roundabout in Bushey after dozens of Coca Cola cans were dumped in the road.
A lorry had shed its load by the Hart Spring roundabout with the junction of Hartspring Lane on Monday (September 28) around 2.55pm.
Hertfordshire Constabulary says police were called and that National Highways also attended to assist with a road closure.
"The cans were moved on to the pavement in order to clear the road", a force spokesperson said.
A picture shows multiple cans on the grass verge near the Toby Carvery with a ‘Police Slow’ sign in place as officers worked at the scene.
Police left the road at 3.50pm.
