Motorists using a busy road in Watford are set to have to find an alternative route on Sunday when part of it is due to be closed for roadworks.
A notice from Hertfordshire County Council in this week’s edition states an order for the temporary closure has now been made and it will take effect from Monday.
However, the one.network website states the closure, from the junction with Leggatts Wood Avenue south-westwards for a distance of approximately 100m, will be in place from 8am to 5pm on Sunday.
The diversion will be via St Albans Road, A41 North Western Avenue, A411 (Hempstead Road/Hyde Road/The Avenue) and St Albans Road or via St Albans Road, A411 Hempstead Road, A41 North Western Avenue and St Albans Road.
Disruption is also likely in Watford town centre from Thursday, September 23 when work begins in the Wellstones for storm water sewer connection works.
The closure is due to be in place until October 6, one.network states, and during this time vehicles will be prevented from using the road from its junction with A411 Exchange Road north-eastwards and south-eastwards to its junction with Market Street, a distance of approximately 275m, except for access.
Before then Rectory Lane, Rickmansworth, is due to be shut for most of next week for utility works.
The road will be closed from Monday until Friday, September 24, according to one.network, and motorists should use Parsonage Road and A412 Rectory Road instead.
An order has also been made for the closure of Parsonage Road, from its junction with Rectory Road south-eastwards and south-westwards to its junction with High Street, a distance of approximately 184m.
One.network does not state when these works are due to take place.
A section of Berry Lane, Rickmansworth, is set to be closed from Monday, September 27 due to vegetation removal works.
The road will be shut from a point in line with the eastern boundary of No. 40 Field Way south-westwards to its junction with Church Lane, a distance of approximately 306m, except for access.
The closure is due to remain in place until Friday, October 1, one.network states, and the alternative route will be via Berry Lane, Tudor Way, Shepherds Lane and Church Lane.
