Drug dealing and theft are crimes police have made a priority to clamp down on in the centre of Watford.
Hertfordshire Constabulary has revealed what officers will be focussing on in the town centre following a consultation with the community.
Feedback found drug crime is a major concern for residents in the area and police say they are working to tackle dealing and overt drug taking in central Watford.
They are also working to identify new lines "that are working in the town and disrupt" them.
Police also want to work with agencies to provide rehabilitating facilities.
Theft is also a concern among residents - police say they have seen a rise in 'dipping' thefts recently from new organised crime groups (OCG).
"The team will work to identify offenders, disrupt and divert OCG’s from working in Watford," police said.
"We will also be doing a lot of high vis engagement working to educate the public on protecting themselves and providing crime prevention."
Police in the centre of Watford will also be prioritising looking at the sale and use of e-scooters.
Hertfordshire Constabulary says police are doing this "to educate the public to where these can be used legally and to identify those not using legally, educating and enforcing if necessary."
People can raise issues in their community by using Hertfordshire Constabulary's 'echo' system, which allows people to voice thoughts and opinions regarding policing in their local area.
Speaking about the ‘echo’ system, Hertfordshire Constabulary said: “Echo is a great way for us to maintain contact with the communities we serve and gather vital feedback to enable us to focus on the issues that are important to them, and target our resources where they are needed most.
“The online form is quick and easy to use, and you can remain anonymous if you wish. Please take a few minutes to let us know what you think we should be focusing on in your neighbourhood. We are here, and listening.”
