A county councillor says council officers have agreed to meet him to discuss ongoing issues with a width restriction.
Stephen Cavinder, who represents the Meriden & Tudor ward at Hertfordshire County Council, is set to meet with officers in Woodmere Avenue in Watford.
It comes after three drivers collided with the width restriction in four days last week, with residents telling the Observer the posts are hit "every day".
Cllr Cavinder said: "The width restriction is probably the biggest single issue there is on the Tudor estate at the moment and I am working towards resolving it.
"I spoke with council officers a couple of weeks ago and I'm due to meet them on-site in the next couple of weeks hopefully to review the issue."
The Woodmere Avenue width restriction has been an ongoing issue ever since it was created in 1980 to stop large vehicles cutting through to Bushey Mill Lane.
Although most drivers navigate the posts just fine, some drivers collide with the posts, which have the ability to cause significant damage to vehicles.
One Woodmere Avenue resident we spoke to last week said he thought the design of three posts either side was "over the top" while some readers have said the design leaves "no margin for error".
For Liberal Democrat representative Cllr Cavinder, he has concerns about the overall scheme and the way it currently operates.
He said: "I understand the frustrations with the width restrictions. Personally I don't have a problem getting through them but I am conscious there are people on this estate with wider cars than mine.
"But for me, the scheme as a whole doesn't work. This is because the bus lane down the middle is used by other motorists and there is no deterrent to stop them doing that.
"It would be more appropriate to have the width restriction taken away and put in cameras and a weight restriction, and I have suggested this to officers."
Last week, Watford's Conservative MP Dean Russell called for "urgent changes".
He told the Observer: "The three most recent incidents reiterate that urgent changes are needed to the width restriction, and I remain in discussions with Hertfordshire County Council having raised in Parliament the need to ensure that residents have a say in what happens outside their front door.
"As I have said previously it isn’t right that drivers have to worry about damaging their vehicle because of a width restriction which was designed decades ago. It also is not fair on residents who are impacted by road closures due to vehicles getting stuck.
"Other local width restrictions such as the ones on Tudor Avenue and Bushey Mill Lane serve their purpose, without posing a serious risk to vehicles."
The Observer posed a series of questions to the county council about the Woodmere Avenue width restriction last Thursday but is yet to receive a response.
