The stabbing yesterday evening (Monday) that saw a man arrested for attempted murder happened at Rickmansworth's Premier Inn, police have confirmed.
More details have emerged this morning after a woman was stabbed in the back near Church Street last night at around 6pm.
A Herts Police spokesperson told the Watford Observer that it happened at the Premier Inn and that the victim and attacker were known to each other.
They said the force could not currently confirm whether the victim, who was aged in her 30s, or the arrested man were employees of the hotel.
A search of the area was carried out and he was located in Rickmansworth Park.
The man is still in custody but has not been charged.
A Premier Inn spokesperson said: "We are currently assisting the police with their investigation but as it is an on-going investigation we are unable to comment any further."
Yesterday there was a large police presence in the area with reports of the police helicopter also being deployed.
When officers arrived they found the woman with a stab wound to her back before she was taken to hospital.
Her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
A police spokesperson said: "A 27-year-old man from London has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in police custody at this time.
"Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call 101 quoting ISR 635 of 6 September."
