Motorists are facing disruption across Watford and surrounding areas due to an extensive number of temporary closures for roadworks.
A full-page notice from Hertfordshire County Council published in this week’s edition of the Watford Observer details plans to shut streets in Watford, Bushey, Rickmansworth and other parts of the south-west of the county while the works are carried out.
The dates of all works may vary and closure orders can last for a period of up to 18 months.
A section of Estcourt Road, Watford, is set to be shut for more than two weeks from Monday due to sewer connection works.
The road will be closed from the southern boundary of No. 125 northwards to its junction with St Johns Road, except for access.
The one.network website states these works are due to last until September 17.
An order for the closure of Sarratt Road, from its junction with Little Green Lane north-westwards to its junction with Redhall Lane, comes into effect from Tuesday.
One.network states this section of the road will be closed from September 7 to September 9.
An order for the closure of Colne Avenue, from its junction with A4125 Eastbury Road north westwards to its junction with Riverside Road, comes into effect from Wednesday but no date is given for these works on one.network.
Another order that takes effect from Wednesday is in Berry Lane, Rickmansworth, from the junction with Valley Road south-eastwards to the junction with Highfield Road.
These works are due to take place from September 13 to September 24 according to one.network.
Also from Wednesday, an order specifying the closures of these lengths of road takes effect:
- A412 Rectory Road, Rickmansworth, from its junction with the A404 Chorleywood Road/A412 Park Road roundabout south-westwards and southwards to its junction with the A412 Uxbridge Road/Wensum Way roundabout, a distance of approximately 455m.
- A41 Watford Road, Hunton Bridge, from its junction with Bridge Road south eastwards for a distance of approximately 405m.
- Commonwood/Quickmoor Lane, Sarratt, from its junction with Plough Lane north-eastwards to its junction with Bucks Hill, a distance of approximately 1156m.
- Solesbridge Lane, Chorleywood, from its junction with A404 Rickmansworth Road north-eastwards to its junction with Sarratt Lane, a distance of approximately 1450m.
- College Road, Abbots Langley, from its junction with Tibbs Hill Road north-eastwards to its junction with the Arundel Road/Harlech Road roundabout, a distance of approximately 498m.
- Tilehouse Lane, Maple Cross, from a point 114m south-west of its junction with A412 Denham Way south-westwards, south-westwards and south-eastwards for a distance of approximately 957m.
