An investigation into the death of a woman who died following a motorway crash is still ongoing, with charges yet to be brought more than a year on.
Ana Bacanu, who lived in Rickmansworth, died after a collision on the M25 in Buckinghamshire in March 2020.
Ms Bacanu, 40, was taken to John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, where she passed away.
A pre-inquest review concerning Ms Bacanu’s death took place at Beaconsfield Coroners’ Court on Wednesday morning.
At a previous pre-inquest review, assistant coroner Nick Graham revealed how Ms Bacanu was driving on the motorway when her vehicle came to a stop in the fast lane.
A van then collided with the back of her vehicle, and Ms Bacanu died from the injuries that were sustained in the crash.
At the pre-inquest review on Wednesday, chief coroner Crispin Butler provided an update on the police investigation, telling the court how it was still ongoing, but charges had yet to be brought.
He said: "There’s an ongoing police investigation. I am not aware of any homicide charges or any individual appearing in court to face such charges."
He also advised that the police had not asked him to suspend his coronial investigation.
Mr Butler told the court that the hearing would be adjourned to December 9 for a further pre-inquest review.
