A 15-year-old boy was among three people arrested after police carried out a drugs raid in Abbots Langley.

Officers stormed an address in Parnell Close at 8am on Friday, July 16 and carried out a search.

They found and seized an imitation firearm, both Class A (cocaine) and Class B drugs (cannabis) and paraphernalia which suggested dealing activity.

A 23-year-old man, a 42-year-old woman and a 15-year-old male, all from Abbots Langley, were arrested during the operation.

All three were taken into police custody for questioning. The 23-year-old man, who was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply both Class A and Class B drugs, was released under investigation.

The 42-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, possession with intent to supply Class B drugs and possession of Class B drugs (cannabis).

She was released without charge in relation to the possession with intent to supply offences and was given a community resolution order for the possession of cannabis.

The 15-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, possession with intent to supply Class B drugs, but he was later released without charge.

Officers from Hertfordshire Constabulary's Operation Scorpion team carried out the drugs warrant and were supported by colleagues from Watford’s Operation Scorpion team, as well as Abbots Langley and Rickmansworth Safer Neighbourhood Teams respectively.

Operation Scorpion PC Honor Greaves, who led the operation, said: “We will never stop pursuing those who supply drugs and commit crime in Hertfordshire, because everyone deserves to live in a place where they feel safe.

“This warrant was carried out after we received intelligence from members of the public asking us to combat drugs and associated criminality in the area.

“This type of work helps us gather evidence and intelligence to infiltrate and disrupt wider criminal networks, and we will not be deterred from carrying out this kind of action wherever necessary.

“We want this to serve as a warning to anyone who is involved in drug crime in this county – we will catch up with you eventually.

“We’re asking residents to help us help them – tell us if you have information. We want to hear from you so we can improve your quality of life in your neighbourhood.”

The operation is the latest in a line of proactive measures by police in their aim to combat crime and anti-social behaviour in Three Rivers.

Last month, the district’s Community Safety Unit achieved a partial closure order on a property on Springwell Avenue in Mill End after reports of suspected drug activity and associated anti-social behaviour which led officers to conduct a drugs warrant.

The subsequent closure order states that no one besides the three occupants, the emergency services, the council or companies directed by the council can enter the property.

All three residents were issued with community protection warnings which state that no drugs or drug paraphernalia must enter the property, and that no loud noises should emit from the address after 9pm each night.
