Maskless visitors to Watford's shopping centre will not be challenged by security when restrictions are eased next week.
The remaining coronavirus restrictions in England will be lifted on Monday (July 19), with people no longer required by law to wear masks.
However, the Government has said people will still be expected to wear masks in certain situations, while some businesses, including supermarkets, are encouraging shoppers to continue to wear face coverings when visiting its stores.
At the moment, shoppers at Watford's indoor shopping centre, Atria Watford, are required to wear a covering, unless they are medically exempt.
But when restrictions ease on Monday, centre director Vicki Costello has confirmed people will be given the option on whether they want to cover their nose and mouth or not.
She said: "Visitors that choose to continue to wear a face covering are welcome to do so, and those that choose not to will not be challenged. It is now a personal choice, and we ask people to respect one another’s preference so everyone can enjoy a relaxed shopping and leisure experience.
"It is important to remember that wearing a face covering can significantly reduce the transmission of the virus and will help protect one another, this is particularly relevant in enclosed areas such as the lifts and smaller retailers."
Ms Costello has warned that some stores within Atria Watford may be operating a policy where a face covering is still required to visit. Details will be available on Atria's website.
She added the shopping centre will continue to provide hand sanitiser stations at entrances and exits and enhanced cleaning regimes will continue particularly at door entrances and on escalators.
Seating areas will also return and these will also be subject to enhanced cleaning.
Ms Costello added: "Over the past few months, it has been extremely encouraging to see our shoppers return to the centre and once again enjoy our fashion, beauty, dining and leisure at Atria Watford.
"With more exciting experiences, new retailers and events coming to the centre, there’s a bright future ahead of us all."
