Free live music and dance performances are set to return to Watford's bandstand in Cassiobury Park.
The bandstand near The Cha Café and the park’s Shepherds Road entrance will be a focal point for Watford Borough Council’s Summer of Fun programme.
Every Sunday afternoon, from July to September, there will be a different performance at the bandstand - including Big Jive Swing on Sunday July 25, from 12 to 6pm.
Elected Mayor of Watford Peter Taylor said: “It has been an extremely difficult 16 months, but with more restrictions lifting, I’m pleased that we’ve been able to big back live music to the Bandstand.
“There will be first-class free shows for our residents and visitors, with excellent local and international performances right here in our own town.
“Please do visit the Bandstand and enjoy some fantastic live performances this summer.”
Meanwhile the 500-seat Stage at the Park is also set to open on Monday and will host a range of theatre, comedy and other live performances between July 23 and August 8.
Daniel Clarkson and Chris Wheeler, founders of Harlequin Theatricals, are organising Stage in the Park alongside Watford Palace Theatre and the borough council.
The organisers said: “We want everyone to feel comfortable and safe as we enjoy the summer ahead.
“We hope all at Stage In The Park continues to be kind, considerate and respectful of each other ensuring that we can enjoy this wonderful outdoor experience and celebrate being back together again.”
