Streets in Watford and Bushey are among those set to be temporarily closed for roadworks causing possible disruption for motorists.
A notice from Hertfordshire County Council in this week’s edition of the Watford Observer details the extent of the intended closures and other measures that may be necessary while the works are carried out.
If the closure orders are made, they are valid for up to 18 months but will only take effect at times shown by signs at or near the relevant locations.
Tudor Avenue, Watford, is set to be closed to vehicles from its junction with A41 North Western Avenue Colne Way south westwards for a distance of approximately 16m to allow utility works to be carried out.
The order is set to take effect on July 26 and the diversion will be via the A41 North Western Avenue Colne Way, A412 St Albans Road, Bushey Mill Lane and Tudor Avenue.
The council is also seeking to temporarily close the gap in the central reservation gap on the A41 North Western Avenue Colne Way from a point in line with the northern boundary of No. 82 Colne Way south-eastwards for a distance of approximately 23m.
The closure, which is needed to enable traffic lights to be refurbished, will take effect on July 26 if the order is made.
The alternative route will be via the A41 (North Western Avenue Colne Way/North Western Avenue), the A41 Dome roundabout and the A41 (North Western Avenue/North Western Avenue Colne Way), or via the A41, the A1 (M) (junction 5) and A41 (Otterspool Way/North Western Avenue Colne Way).
A section of Sandy Lane, Bushey, is set to be temporarily closed to allow a service pipe to be repaired and renewed.
This order is due to come into force on July 31 and will apply from a point 126m north-east of the junction with Little Bushey Lane north-westwards and north-eastwards for a distance of approximately 142m, except for access.
The diversion will be via Sandy Lane, Little Bushey Lane, B462 Hartspring Lane, A41 Elton Way and Sandy Lane.
The council is also intending to make an order to close part of Sarratt Road for utility works.
This will take effect from July 26, if made, and will apply from the junction with the access road leading to York House School north-westwards for a distance of approximately 87m.
The alternative route will be via Sarratt Road, The Green, A412 (Scots Hill/Park Road), A404 (Chorleywood Road/Rickmansworth Road), Solesbridge Lane and Sarratt Road.
