Are you looking for an opportunity to make a difference to people’s lives and have a positive impact on the community of Watford?
Citizens Advice Watford is looking for volunteers to join their advice team and is holding a virtual information morning on Tuesday, July 13.
Covid-19 has brought unprecedented challenges to people in the community, resulting in a significant increase in demand for the services of Citizens Advice Watford.
Volunteers have worked remotely to help as many people as possible with problems such as employee rights, the furlough scheme, claiming benefits, managing finances, and refunds for goods or services affected by the pandemic.
Even with the prospect of restrictions lifting, many people whose lives were affected by the pandemic will continue to need advice, and Citizens Advice Watford is looking for more volunteers to continue with this vital work.
Volunteering with the organisation not only gives an opportunity to develop skills and work as a team, but is also very rewarding.
Current volunteer Solinda, pictured, said: “What motivates me is knowing that I’ve helped somebody and no matter how small that help might be, knowing it might have taken some burdens away from people is very fulfilling”.
Citizens Advice Watford believes that the skills, experience and satisfaction that come from volunteering should be available to everyone, welcoming volunteers from all walks of life, backgrounds and communities to reflect the diversity of the community it serves.
Chief Officer Emma Burgham said: “Volunteers are at the heart of the service we provide to people in our local community and we are immensely grateful to all our volunteers for their commitment and dedication.”
