A man accused of spitting in a dessert that was served to a customer in a restaurant will go on trial at a later date.
Samir Siamer appeared at St Albans Magistrates Court over the alleged incident, which is said to have occurred at Creams in Rickmansworth on December 11, 2017.
He has been charged with spitting in a dessert which was given to a customer who ate it whilst being employed as a chef.
He appeared at court on Wednesday via video link for a plea hearing.
Siamer, who is currently living in Rue de Bruys in Marseille, France, pleaded not guilty to the charge.
A trial has been scheduled to go ahead on January 6 next year at St Albans Magistrates Court.
