A household that caused complaints of suspected drug use and dealing has been issued a closure order.
The order means that no visitors are allowed to enter the property in Springwell Avenue at Mill End, Rickmansworth, for the next three months - except emergency services or maintenance contractors with prior permission from police.
Anyone seen breaching the order could face a fine or a jail sentence.
The order was issued after members of the public reported suspected drug use and dealing, along with other complaints of noise disturbances and people frequently visiting the house and arguing.
Three Rivers’ Community Safety Partnership took action following the complaints, and evidence was presented at St Albans Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (June 23).
Cllr Sarah Nelmes, leader of Three Rivers District Council, said the willingness of people in the community to speak out and provide evidence was crucial to secure the order.
She said: “Anti-social behaviour has a massive impact on local communities. We have seen an increase in the number of reports from residents in the district about anti-social behaviour which reflects a greater awareness amongst communities and a desire to work together to stamp it out.
“We will do everything we can to help and support people affected by anti-social behaviour. We very much value our close working relationship with all our partners in the Community Safety Partnership and know that these positive results provide a good precedent for future partnership working.”
