Train services via Watford Junction are disrupted after a person was hit by a train.
The emergency services were called to Cheddington station in Buckinghamshire this afternoon.
National Rail confirmed a person had been hit by a train and all lines were closed between Watford Junction and Milton Keynes Central.
The British Transport Police has confirmed a person died at the scene. Their death is not being treated as suspicious.
National Rail warned of disruption until 7pm and this has now been extended until the end of the day, although some lines have been able to reopen.
However, emergency responders and railway staff have remained on-site and as a result, trains will be cancelled, delayed by up to 45 minutes, or revised.
Rail replacement buses have been running between Watford and Milton Keynes with the incident first reported at around 3.30pm.
London Northwestern, Avanti West Coast, and Southern services have been affected with customers being allowed to travel on alternative routes, as long as it is considered a "reasonable" route.
National Rail reports that major disruption remains ongoing.
