Hello, my name is Pepper and this is my rather beautiful daughter Salt. I am 2½ years old and Salt is two-years-old. We came to the National Animal Welfare Trust in May when our owner’s circumstances changed.
We are quite confident guinea pigs who really like to have lots of love and attention but also like to be independent and explore. We’re both very chatty girls who will talk happily to you first thing in the morning and when it’s our favourite time of the day - veggie time!
We are used to living in a garden shed with access to a run in warm weather, so we can live indoors or outdoors in a shed, garage or summer house.
We do love the company of humans and would really like a home with adults or a family with children of any age but the adults would have to do most of the handling initially, just until we get to know you a bit better.
We guinea pigs make very popular first pets as we’re usually happier to be handled than other small animals and live, on average, four to eight years. Another plus is we’re awake during the day when you are!
If you can offer us a good home you’re assured of lots of fun and affection. Contact the NAWT by emailing reception@nawt.org.uk or call 0208 950 0177 (option 2) to arrange for us to meet.
