Trains will face delays for more than a week as speed restrictions are in place.
The speed restriction has been set between Watford Junction and St Albans Abbey this morning, causing disruption to trains between these stations.
According to the National Rail, this means that trains can be delayed up to 25 minutes or replaced with road transport as the infrastructure is managed.
However the speed restriction is now expected to last until the end of next week Sunday (June 20) until the issue between the lines is resolved.
Anyone wishing to use the London Northwestern Railway service during this time is advised to check the National Rail journey planner before travelling.
Commuters affected by the restrictions may also be entitled to compensation if they experience a delay in completing their journey. To do so visit here.
