Police have sent out several appeals following crimes including a woman being raped and youths climbing onto a roof.

Below are the appeals sent out this week:

Appeal after woman raped in wooded area

Detectives are appealing for information after a woman was raped in a wooded area earlier this month.

Hertfordshire Constabulary says it is investigating the incident which happened between 6.30pm and 8pm on Sunday May 16 in South Oxhey.

Police say it took place on a path in a wooded area that runs alongside the stream adjacent to Prestwick Road.

The victim is aged in her 50s and police say she had been out walking when she fell over and lost consciousness.

Sometime later, she woke up beside a tree before making her way home.

As part of its investigation, police are seeking to piece together an exact timeline of events, including how the woman came to fall and when she was sexually assaulted.

Detective Inspector Michael Macbeth, who is overseeing the investigation, is appealing for anyone who may have information about what happened to get in touch.

He says extensive enquiries have taken place this week, but now are calling on the public for help.

He is hoping to trace a couple of people who were in the area when the woman woke up.

Youths climb onto roof

Children and teenagers are asked to be responsible after sightings of youths climbing the roof of a disused swimming pool building.

Hertfordshire Constabulary says it has received two reports of children aged between 12 and 16 gaining access to the roof of the disused Sir James Altham swimming pool building off Altham Way in South Oxhey.

It is believed that the youths used the roof to gain entry inside the building.

On both occasions, officers searched the area and failed to find any children inside or outside the building.

Extra patrols will be conducted in the area over the next few weeks.

No formal warnings have been issued yet as the youths have not been caught or identified.

Hertfordshire Constabulary encourages anyone who witnesses suspicious activity at the site to call police on 999.

Man taken to hospital after crash

A man was taken to hospital with a head injury following a crash in a residential street at the end of last week.

Hertfordshire Constabulary were called to reports of a collision in Carpenders Avenue in Carpenders Park just before 10pm on Friday May 21.

Police say three vehicles had been involved in the crash.

Officers attended the scene but the occupant(s) of one of the vehicles - a BMW - had fled the area.

A search was carried out for them but they were not traced.

The driver has since made contact with police.

One male suffered a head injury and was taken to hospital.

The road was closed until around 12.30am while enquiries were carried out and vehicle recovery was carried out.

A police spokeswoman confirmed no arrests had been made but further enquiries would be carried out.
