A man was taken to hospital with a head injury following a crash in a residential street at the end of last week.
Hertfordshire Constabulary were called to reports of a collision in Carpenders Avenue in Carpenders Park just before 10pm on Friday May 21.
A photo taken on Friday night shows at least two police cars in the street after the incident happened with blue flashing lights.
Police say three vehicles had been involved in the crash.
Officers attended the scene but the occupant(s) of one of the vehicles - a BMW - had fled the area.
A search was carried out for them but they were not traced.
The driver has since made contact with police.
One male suffered a head injury and was taken to hospital.
The road was closed until around 12.30am while enquiries were carried out and vehicle recovery was carried out.
A police spokeswoman confirmed no arrests had been made but further enquiries would be carried out.
