Police are trying to find a man they want to talk to after an on-duty police officer was struck by a van in Oxhey.
Hertfordshire Constabulary says the assault happened on March 25 in Crossmead, off Colne Avenue, when two police officers responded to reports of a disturbance in the street.
On attending they found a white van, believed to be a Volkswagen Caddy, and attempted to speak to the occupants.
One of the officers, a sergeant, was beside the stationary van when it moved off at speed, striking him and causing him to fall to the ground.
He suffered minor injuries as a result.
Police have released an image of a man they would like to speak to as part of their enquiries.
Detective Sergeant Helen Dickson, from the Watford Local Crime Unit, said: “We have carried out extensive enquiries into this incident but now we have chosen to release this photo.
“We have used photo editing software to lighten this image of a man we would like to trace and speak to as part of our enquiries.
“We believe he has key information that could be very useful to us, so if you know who he is, please get in touch as soon as possible.”
Information can be reported by emailing helen.dickson@herts.pnn.police.uk, online at herts.police.uk/report, the online web chat at herts.police.uk/contact or by calling the non-emergency number 101.
