A Watford man is set to stand trial after he was charged with stealing hundreds of pounds worth of clothes and a microwave.
Paul Yates, of Whippendell Road, is alleged to have stolen clothing worth £236 from Superdry in Watford on August 26 last year, before returning on September 6 and taking a further £299.94 worth of clothes.
The 47-year-old is also accused of stealing a microwave worth £70 belonging to Wilko.
Yates appeared in St Albans Magistrates’ Court where he pleaded not guilty to the charges.
He was granted conditional bail until his trial date later this year on September 14.
Until then he must not enter Superdry or Wilko and has to report to a police station at certain times.
