Here is a round-up of those in our area who have been named in magistrates’ courts between May 10 and May 13.

  • Mohammed Khan, 39, of Chipperfield Road, Kings Langley. On May 30, 2020, the defendant drove a Land Rover at a speed exceeding the legal limit of 30 miles per hour. The speed recorded by means of Ultralyte Laser was 37 miles per hour miles per hour. The speed limit was signified by street lighting placed at less than 200-yard intervals. Fine, costs: £310. Driving licence also endorsed with three points.
  • Joseph Moloney, 32, of Elm Avenue, Watford. On October 26, 2020, the defendant drove a BMW X6 on Elm Avenue without due care and attention in that the BMW X6 collided head on with another car, pushing the vehicle back onto the pavement into a small wall causing damage to both vehicles and injuries to both parties. Fine, costs: £437. Driving licence also endorsed with six points.
  • Paul Antony Mcsweeney, 54, of Haines Way, Watford. On December 18, 2019, the defendant drove a Vauxhall Corsa on St Albans Road when he was at the time using a hand-held mobile telephone. Fine, costs: £182. Also disqualified for holding or obtaining a driving licence for three months and driving record endorsed with six points.
  • Jay Edwards, 24, of Latimer Close, Watford. On January 9, 2021, at Cell Barnes Lane, St Albans, had in his possession a small quantity of Class B, namely Cannabis, a controlled drug of class B. Also on January 16, in Drakes Drive, St Albans, had in his possession a small quantity of Class B, namely Cannabis, a controlled drug of class B. Fine, costs: £319.
  • Devid Memia, 29, of Langley Way, Watford. On March 30, 2020, the defendant used an Audi A4 on St Albans Road when there was no insurance in force covering that use of the vehicle. Also drove otherwise than in accordance with a licence for that class of motor vehicle in that the defendant is not the holder of a driving licence. Fine, costs £355. Driving record also endorsed with six points.
  • Christopher Thomas James Turner, 29, of Meadows Road, Bushey. On October 12, 2020, the defendant drove a motor vehicle on a road, namely St Albans Road, while disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence. Committed to prison for 8 weeks suspended for 18 months. Driving record also endorsed with nine points. Costs £213. Also drove when there was not in force in relation to that use such a policy of insurance or such a security in respect of third-party risks. Driving record endorsed but no separate penalty.
  • Philip Ross Tallboy, 41, of High Road, Leavesden, Watford. On January 16, 2021, had in his possession a small deal bag of cannabis, a controlled drug of class B. Fine, costs: £159. Also on March 4, stole Nicorette to the value of £106 belonging to Boots. Fine, costs: £186.
