A group of gyms in Hertfordshire have partnered up to support employees at local hospitals with their physical health goals.
The Anytime Fitness gyms in Croxley Park, Bushey and Hemel Hempstead have collaborated with the Wellfest initiative with West Hertfordshire Hospitals' chairty Raise to support employees with their wellbeing and mental health.
The teams from the Croxley Park and Bushey branches will provide free health assessments at Watford General Hospital on Wednesday (May 19) to all NHS staff members.
These assessments will give employees an insight into their health, including analysis to their posture and muscle mass - with Anytime Fitness staff then providing practical advice based on the assessments, including exercise plans.
Free gym trials will also be handed out, while a range of equipment will be brought to the hospital too.
Colin Walker, the general manager at Anytime Fitness Bushey, said: “We’re really grateful to be part of Wellfest.
“Given all the amazing work that the NHS continue to do, we’re looking forward to meeting some of their staff and supporting them with their physical health goals.
“With the nature of their work, long shifts and being on their feet for so many hours, it’s likely that they’re not able to focus on their own health so we hope they find it informative and beneficial.”
“We’ve booked in over 30 staff already, so it’s looking like it will be a busy and rewarding day,” he said.
Ben Pulsford, the club manager at the Croxley Park branch, said: “These people do so much for us, so we hope that they benefit from these health assessments and that we’re able to give something back where we can.”
